Q How difficult is it to install a stair lift? A The units we carry are designed for a homeowner or handyman to install. It normally takes 2-3 hours for a layperson to complete a stair lift installation, and only commonplace household tools are required. However, if you would prefer to have a trained technician perform your installation, we do offer that service - click here to learn more. Q Where can I find installation instructions? A An installation manual should be found on every stair lift's product page on this site. If you have difficulties finding the installation manuals, or one is not available for the product in which you have an interest, feel free to call us and we will supply you with the necessary information to complete your installation. Q What warranty coverage is included with the purchase of a stair lift? A Summit stairlifts are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a 3-year period on all component parts of the lift, and a 5-year period on the motor and gear. All AmeriGlide stairway lifts are covered by a 10-year warranty against defects in the drive train and its component parts, and a 5-year warranty against defects in all other stair lift parts and components. Q I need to replace the batteries in my stair lift. Can you help me with this? A We do carry replacement batteries for stairlifts. Such batteries are 12-volt, 7 amp power supplies, and should work with nearly any brand of stair lift. If you have questions about battery compatibility, please give us a call and we can tell you if these batteries will work with your existing stair lift. Q How long does delivery of a stair lift or vertical platform lift take inside the continental U.S.? A It takes 1-2 days to cut the stairlift track and have UPS process the shipment. Generally speaking, deliveries to the west coast take 7-8 business days, while deliveries to the midwest and northeast take 5-6 business days, and deliveries in the southeast take 3-4 business days. Overnight service is also available at an additional cost; please contact our customer service specialists for more details. Q What days are you open for sales? A We are open 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm EST to answer your queries and process your orders. Online orders may be placed at any time, day or night. Q Is my credit card information secure when I order online? A All of our online transactions are secured using SSL to protect your information and privacy. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser program such as Internet Explorer, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers. In addition, we never sell or give away any personal information you provide to us. Q I don't want to pay by credit card. Do you accept any other payment methods? A We also accept personal checks, money orders, bank checks, and debit cards. If you pay by personal check, we will process your order as soon as your check clears (usually within 7-10 days). If you pay by bank check, we will process the order as soon as we receive the check. Q Can I use my debit card to pay for my order? A Yes, that's no problem. However, many debit cards have a daily purchase or withdrawal limit placed on them by the bank that issued the card. You can call your bank to obtain pre-approval for an over-limit charge, or we can break the charges up over multiple days. We recommend placing debit card orders via telephone to ensure that we have the right contact information needed to follow up with you if we encounter a problem processing your order.
